Offered here for your consideration is a extraordinary 1948
Mercury Series 79M Woodie Station Wagon. Purchased new in San
Diego, California. Restored by Ron Heiden of Carlsbad, California
to the highest standards. Original factory wood in phenomenal
condition. The wood is Fiddle-Back Maple. The same wood that fine
guitars are made out of. Masterfully applied paint. Sparkling
chrome and stainless. All three Leather seats. Stock heater, radio
and classic fans. Power comes by a Flathead V/8 matched to
a three-speed manual transmission. The vehicle runs
and drives flawlessly.
Recent maintenance performed on the car include two new water
pumps, new dimmer switch, new halogen bulbs, new plugs and wires,
new wide whitewall radial tires, plus new king pins, drag links and
battery.
This example is an extremely rare and desirable investment quality
vehicle. A once in a lifetime opportunity.
Please note: The video attached has a clip with the engine starting
and running. The static-clicking sound is not coming from the
engine compartment. The engine's electrical system produced an
anomoly with my digital video camera and captured the sound. The
car runs wonderfully.
Please view the youtube video. It is very informative plus you can
see the vehicle start and run.
For shipping purposes the car is located in Tuftonboro, NH.
