1972 MGB-GT (Hatchback)
1.8Litre engine / 95hp with 2-1bbl SU carburetors bring this car to 60mph in under 11 seconds at a top speed of 105mph. Not GTO fast but quite impressive for a car of this size.
This British Sports cars solid-roof MGB GT was introduced in October 1965. Production continued until 1980, although export to the US ceased in 1974. The MGB GT sported the ground-breaking Pininfarina designed “hatchback” style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear deck lid, the B GT offered the utility of a station wagon while retaining the style and shape of a coupe. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster. Other than the hardtop of the MGB, there were very few differences from the Roadster although the MGB GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars.
Despite its small size, the MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact with an immovable object.
This car has been completely restored and is in excellent condition through out. Paint shines like glass and all chrome and trim are like new. The is no rust now and never has been. The interior is in great shape with no seat tares or cracks. The dash is clean and clear and all features work as they should. There are nearly $8000 in recent receipts as part of the restoration. Brakes, tires and all safety features are like new. Nothing is needed. This MGB starts, runs and drives beautifully and wow… what a blast to drive. There is alot of fun to be had with this British sports car whether it be around town, to local car shows and even on long distances. This car comes with its own custom car cover.
Come on in for a test drive.
