Vehicle Description
This is a very solid, very nice original truck. It was built in MN, but must have lived in the Dakotas. It is basically rust free.
The paint looks completely original, yet if you look very close, you can see that it isn’t. There is a bit of “patina” including surface rust, chips, scratches and small dings. At the same time, it shines up nice. This is the original Bengal Tan/Wimbleton White color scheme.
When you go beneath, you will see surface rust on the chassis, but certainly no rot. The floors and cab corners are solid and without repair. The bed is very nice. The break bleeders and oil pan are rust-free.
The 292 Y-block starts and runs great. The fuel pump and carburetor were recently replaced. The clutch is good. It goes down the road nice, certainly the oversized radials help. The rear axle has 3.89 gearing. The three speed shifts perfectly.
The bedside toolbox is not rusted out. This is a handy feature. The floor and inner box fenders aren’t beat up. The tonneau cover has provided protection from the elements.
This is a Custom Cab truck. It has dual door locks, visors and mirrors. The door panels are zippered for storage.
This truck has always been Bengal Tan and Wimbleton White. The red stripe separating the two is definitely factory applied. The chrome and trim are in good condition.
The interior is pretty basic. The carpet is nice. I believe it is original. The seat is covered. I don’t know the condition beneath the cover.
All features work, with the exception of the radio. The doors lock with the key. There is an Owners Manual in the glove box. There is a spare, no jack or lug wrench. The hubcaps are in the bed.
This is a very nice truck. It looks fantastic for its age. It runs good and drives well. Its life certainly was easy.
