1948 Chevrolet 1 1/2 Ton Loadmaster in Owls Head, Maine
This 1½-ton Chevrolet Loadmaster, offered for sale at NO RESERVE, underwent a restoration that was completed in 2000. When purchased by its current owner it was completely original, even down to the 1948 owner's manual in the glove box. The current owner spent a great deal of time repairing what need to be fixed and replacing anything that was not period correct. It has new tires, new paint, and a new exhaust system, in addition to a brand-new, wooden flatbed body with removable rack body sides. Though the true mileage of the truck is unknown, the owner estimates it to be approximately 28,000 miles, with only 796 miles since restoration. According to the consignor, this truck looks great and is an excellent driving vehicle, a true example of a quality post-WWII-era truck.
