For many years, Mr. Hunter was a lifelong farmer and family man, and he maintained and cared for this Model A and used it as one of this routinely driven vehicles from his collection. Even as Mr. Hunter's health began to decline, this is vehicle was kept in daily running condition and is currently mechanically sound and a very good running and driving Model A. The sound mechanics of this vehicle are representative of the personality of the late Mr. Hunter. A very good example of a Model A Phaeton, this vehicle is ready to be driven or a prime candidate for new paint to restore it to full show conditions. There is some paint cracking on the passenger side. From the Leroy Hunter Collection Leroy Hunter was a farm boy, working the same fields his family had worked since the early 1900s and that his sons continue to work today. When he and his wife took over the farm in May 1947, he set to work making it into an efficient agricultural endeavor, winning awards for innovation in soil conservation, forest preservation, herd maintenance, and more. This passion for life translated into his love of classic automobiles, and both his sense of adventure and his dedication to quality are present in the vehicles he maintained. Mr. Hunter was well respected by his community and peers, and was a loving supporter of the Owls Head Transportation Museum.
