This desirable Chevelle SS was recently restored to near original
specifications, including most of the special order options.
Updates made to the car consist of drivetrain components, although
the engine is numbers matching. This car's order sheet from the
dealership where it was purchased and a '61 Ford was traded, is one
of the pieces of documentation we have for the car. Other
documentation includes miscellaneous receipts, original owner's
manual, and owner protection plan booklet which includes
Protect-o-Plate.
This Chevelle retains the original 'EF' coded L34 350hp, 396ci V8
which has just been completely rebuilt (Documented) which is mated
to a 4-speed transmission. According to the transmission stamp the
transmission is a later 1971 Muncie M20. An M20 would've been an
option on this car for '68, and as seen on the dealer order sheet,
this car was ordered with a 4-speed. The engine has been rebuilt
including being bored to a 402 and having a Crane Cam
installed.
Other options on the order sheet (See pics) were Floor Mats,
Special Interior, Posi-Traction, Power Steering, Power Brakes,
Special Suspension, Radio, Rear Speaker, Deluxe Seatbelts, Tinted
Windshield, and Vinyl Top. Matador Red paint and body are in
excellent condition, vinyl top and trim look excellent, lights and
lenses are in excellent condition, chrome bumpers and trim are in
excellent condition.
The interior shows very well; black vinyl seats look new, dashboard
is in great condition with no cracks, carpeting is in great
condition, "Roller Tach" works, Hurst Shifter, headliner is tight
and fits correctly. There is currently no radio in the car,
although the radio wiring is present.
