For Sale: 1980 Checker Marathon in Atlanta, Georgia
Here we have a really nice 1980 Checker A11. When's the last time
you saw one? Though the A11 is the Taxicab model, this particular
car was always a private vehicle and never used as a taxi. Out of
the 3-4,000 Checkers built per year, about 10% were sold as private
vehicles. This car was recently refurbished with new paint, a new
interior and a new sound system. Tires, shocks, and brakes appear
very new also. Interior is very nice, paint shows well, and has a
few nicks and touch ups here and there. The Checker has it's
original Chevy 3.8 V6 and THM400 transmission. The 3.8 has a Holley
4 bbl in place of the original 2 bbl Rochester. Power steering,
power disc brakes, and a tilt column are also as installed from the
Checker factory in Kalamazoo. The V6 moves the car along, but this
is a heavy automobile; we have a nice SBC in stock right now and
could do a quick conversion for you if you were so inclined. If
you've had all the other automotive toys and want something
different, give us a call.
