1931 Chevrolet Telephone Truck
Exterior
Two-tone Green and black paint. Paint job is older and upon close
inspection does show cracks and wear. No damage or rust found in
body. Driver side window is cracked. All tires are good but some do
have aging cracks. Headlights, brake light and horn all work and
engine runs beautifully.
Interior
Reupholstered interior is in great shape with no damage found. Wood
framing in doors is in very good condition with no signs of damage.
Some gages on the instrument panel are not working but I do know
they have worked in the past. Floor board is good but I do not have
the mat to cover it.
Mechanical
Straight six engine starts easily and runs excellent. Has the
updraft carburetor. Engine was rebuilt about 20 years ago and show
no sign of leaks. The non-synchro assisted transmission shifts
great and has the reverse level on the stick.. Mechanical brakes
stop the car well.
This truck has been in the family since the 50's and has been used
for parades and car shows. when it was purchased, my dad performed
an off the frame total rebuild. In 1993 he performed a engine
rebuild and gave it a new paint job. This truck is an uncommon
model telephone truck due to the fact that Bell systems purchased
and used mostly Ford trucks back in the day. It truly looks great
and runs great and is ready for a weekend picnic or parade.
