This is a beautiful 442 was the recipient of a multiple 1st place car show awards including the "Oldsmobile of the year for 1990" award by the Oldsmobile Club of America at their 1990 Nationals meet. Oldsmobile owners are perhaps the most meticulous when it comes to their cars, just like this loving 442 owner of 12 years!
1969 442s were very similar to the 1968 except the division tooth between the grilles, the trunk lid inlets for the tail lights, wing windows deleted on convertibles, steering lock ignition switch on the steering column, standard headrests were added to the front seats, and the paint scheme. Twin hood stripes were now available to highlight the new dual-bulged hood. The 442 numerals grew to nearly double their previous size. Optional disc brakes now had updated single-piston calipers. The exhaust manifolds featured a new center divider for better performance.
Finished in a brilliant Platinum Silver the paint on this Olds looks awesome. The front and rear chrome bumpers are tight and the finish is exquisite. All trim pieces are present and have a great finish. The soft black power top (which matching black boot) is in very good condition as well as the rear glass window. The headlights with period correct T3's and taillights are in very condition with no hazing or cracks.
Inside, this 442 features black vinyl front and rear seats that look great. The matching black door panels, carpet and dashboard are a continuation of the striking interior of this car and look fantastic. The weather-stripping is excellent, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. All the gauges have correct appearance as originally design with the tasteful addition of a water temp gauge mounted under the dash. The original Oldsmobile designed three spoke steering wheel, AM/FM radio and under dash mounted 8 track player are in very good condition.
This '69 Olds is equipped with a 442 correct 325hp 400cid Oldsmobile V8 engine fed by a 4 barrel carburetor. Power is transferred to the wheels by a Turbo Hydramatic 400 three speed automatic transmission. Factory duel exhaust give this Cutlass a great muscle car sound. Drivers assist features include power steering and power brakes. The 14-inch grey metallic rallye wheels, with chrome beauty rings with Oldsmobile hub caps wrapped in red line radial tires.
