The Mercury Marauder returned for the first time in 33 years and hit the market as a 2003 model year. For the first time, Mercury had two full size vehicles in their lineup at the same time since 1974. Marketed as a full-size "muscle car" that was similar to their 90's era Impala SS, this vehicle was given the 4.6L V8 which put out over 300 hp from the factory and was mated to a 4-speed automatic. Now with a naturally aspirated dual-cam system, the power was prevalent as soon as you stepped on the gas but with all the comfort and stability you come to expect from a full-size sedan making this a real thrill to drive without the worries of loss of control.
