Vehicle Description
1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder Convertible; only 4761 examples of this car were produced by General Motors. The 1964 Corvair was the recipient of some substantial upgrades including an increased engine displacement to 164 cubic inches, the addition of a transverse leaf spring which provided a more neutral handling and finned rear brake drums for increased stopping power. Although the additional displacement did not increase the 150 horse power from this turbocharged flat 6 it did increase the torque.
This numbers matching Corvair Monza Spyder Convertible has under gone a complete cosmetic restoration from a rust fee original paint car. This Spider was stripped down to the bare metal and painted in the original color of Palomar Red. It is believed that the black interior including the carpets is original to the car. The mechanicals on the car have been refreshed and upgraded as required on this 51958 original mile car. The white top has been replaced and is in excellent working order.
It appears that all components of this Spyder Convertible are in excellent working order and all work has been performed in a manner to keep this car in "as original condition".
This is an excellent opportunity to own one of the nicest examples of a Corvair Monza Spyder.
