Up for sale is the last of the hand built AMG Mercedes’, the W210 E55 German muscle car. This 2001 is one of only 659 produced that year and is equipped with the legendary M113 5.5 liter normally aspirated single overhead cam three valve per cylinder all aluminum V8. This limited edition engine produced 349 horsepower and 391 ft pounds of torque, delivered to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. Zero to sixty in under 5 seconds and a quarter mile trap time in the very low 13’s, impressive for a 3765 pound car.
The E55 was distinguished from its lesser E Class siblings with unique bodywork and wheels, giving it a stout and aggressive stance. This car is hard loaded and includes the Designo interior trim. Everything works with the exception of the air bladder adjustments in the front seats. This car has a clean Carfax and is in overall very good condition with minor wear for the age including some rockchips in the front, some curb rash on the wheels and some minor interior imperfections. The seats are in great shape with no rips or tears.
This car has under 91k miles on the clock and runs fantastic. It is startlingly fast, with absolutely no lag in throttle response, tracks staight down the road and handles much better than you would expect for a car this size. There is fresh Z-Rated rubber on the staggered 18” monoblock alloy wheels. If you can keep your right foot off the floor, it even gets decent gas mileage for such a high performance car. I have owned it for about a year and have refreshed the fluids, replaced the motor and transmission mounts, front sway bar links and installed a new battery.
This car is ready to go and good for hundreds of thousands of more miles; it is after all a Mercedes Benz.
These W210 E55 cars have seen the bottom of their depreciation curves and are beginning to be looked upon as future collectibles. They represent a fantastic value for the time being that can be driven and if taken care of not lose its value.
This car is located in Rowlett, Texas.
