1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe: One of Harley Earl's last designs before he retired in 1959 the Art Deco Inspired Bel Air Impala with a 283 c.i. engine and powerglide transmission. For 1958 GM was promoting their fiftieth year of production and introduced Anniversary models for each brand and the all-new Bel-Air Impala was that model for Chevrolet. The 1958 models were longer lower and wider than its predecessors. The tailfins of the 1957 were replaced by deeply sculptured rear fenders. Impalas had three taillights each side.
