1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Sport Coupe was ordered as a 136 code with the Super Sport bucket seats and console with floor mounted shifter. A life-long California car that was produced the third week of January 1970 and kept its entire life in California with no rust or corrosion. The interior is original code 770 in the medium saddle vinyl. The exterior is repainted in a subtle yellow which complements the interior nicely. The car is excellent condition from bumper to bumper. All body panels are original and undamaged. All chrome and brightwork are in excellent condition. All glass is near perfect. The interior is free of any stains, rips or wear. Mechanically, the car is incredible. It easily starts and drives perfect. The 350ci engine paired with the automatic transmission function perfectly. All gauges and other features function without flaws. This is a near perfect car that is now 46 years on the road. Needless to say, the owner has well cared for this incredible Chevelle.
In 1970 Chevrolet gave some minor restyling to give the Chevelle bodies a more squared-up stance, as well as the interiors were also redesigned. The 1970 Chevelle came in sport coupe, sport sedan, convertible, four-door sedan, a couple of wagons, and the El Camino body styles. Only 3 of these, Malibu sport coupe, Malibu convertible and El Camino pickup were available with a choice of one of 2 SS options; RPO Z25 with the SS 396 402 cid engine and RPO Z15 with the new 454 cid engine. The base model was now simply called Chevelle in lieu of the former base 300 Deluxe, and was available as a Sport Coupe or four-door sedan. The hardtop, convertible, and sedan received the upgraded sheetmetal but the station wagons and El Camino retained the previous year sheetmetal panels. 1970 was a stellar year for sales of the Chevelle with 375,805 units produced.
