2010 FORD SPORT TRAC 'ADRENALIN' 4.6 V8 AWD LIMITED EDITION
When you're in the business of dealing in Low Mileage, Unique,
Documented Vehicles choosing a Collectible Late Model Company Truck
becomes equally as important as choosing the same in Classic Cars.
This mission was no easy chore. Spoiled by the "Sportside' Bed and
Widebody look of our 1999 Chevy Silverado we waited 9 years for
Chevrolet and GMC to re-issue the Sportside bed again. So, back to
searching. We are ashamed to admit this Limited Build Ford
production truck slipped right behind us un-noticed. Maybe it was
the lack of advertising, or even 'seeing one' on the road, or at a
local Central FLA. Ford Store but, it took a series of 7
'5-Star' Reviews posted on the Internet to catch our
attention. Ford actually produced the 'Sport Trac Adrenalin'
beginning in 2008. Promised to build a SVT version in 2009 only to
completely pull the plug on production Oct. 29, 2010. Since only
about 60,000 Sport Tracs were built each year and only about 10% as
"Adrenalin" Editions, production turned out to be very low.In fact
in V8 form it is written only 660 were built. Since most of those
were the V6 version, low mile Adrenalin V8's are extremely hard to
come by.
The Sport Trac Model pretty much came 'loaded' with all the most
desirable features but, only the "Adrenalin' Models carried as
Standard a "Black Nostril Grille", Fog Lamps, Composite Cargo Box
(said t be virtually indestructible), Locking Tailgate, Power
Heated Mirrors, with 'Puddle Lamps', Power Sliding (Down) Rear
Window, Full Leather, / Heated Seats w/ 10- way Power drivers Side,
the usual 60/40 Rear seat, , a Killer AM/FM/6-CD Changer Stereo,
MP3 Audio System, with Sirius Sat./ Syn Activated Voice Control,
Automatic Dusk Headlamps, Unique only-to-the Adrenalin Headlights,
Outside Temp Display, All-Wheel Drive, Independent Rear Suspension,
Cargo Box Tie downs, Trailer Sway control, 22.5 gal Fuel tank. 4
Power Point Suspension, the 'New' Advance Trac 5 Star Stability
System, . 'Securicode' Keyless Door Pad, 'SOS' Post Crash Alert
System, plus the usual Ford 36,000 mile (60k Powertrain) Warranty.
On our truck, the added Options of $3300 in "Rapid Spec AWD Limited
Adrenalin Package " was added which included Power Adjustable
Pedals, 20" Chrome Polished Wheels, w/ 255/50R290 Tires and Trailer
Tow Class IV Package. The 4.6 Liter V8 with 24 Valve Motor was also
added at an additional cost of $1310 tied to the latest 6 Speed
Automatic Transmission. The FIA Splash guards, Bed Extender and
Power Moon roof added another $1240 bringing this to a total of
over $42,000 new. What isn't talked about on the Window Sticker is
you ALSO got Special new fender vents, Front & rear Fascia panels,
3-flank-Mount Built-In Coolers w/ Plus for storage of beverages
Running Boards, Dual Chrome Tip Exhaust, Coool Perforated Seats,
Special 'Adrenalin' Carpeted Floor mats held by heavy Duty Rubber
Mats, Hard Tonneau and (sometimes) even a Heated Windshield. Was
Ford emptying the Parts Bins?? Top this off with unheard-of Towing
capacity of 7160 lbs. and you start to wonder why Ford ever dropped
this Model?? The Big Attraction for us (with a bad back) was you
didn't need a Step ladder to clean it (or get into). It s fast and
yet still gets 17 mpg in town. Seemed like a no-brainer to buy this
beauty. Add the additional collectability of a one-year-only color
("Blue Flame"), V8 AWD and being the last year built and this one
is a KEEPER. Good luck on finding a low-mile-version- people drive
the pants off these! REDUCED TO $31,500 OBO
