Vehicle Description
You’re looking at a strikingly crisp example of a 1957 Oldsmobile 98 J2 Convertible.
This car has been collector owned and properly maintained (more below) since January of 2011 in a climate controlled facility. It is a very, very nice example of a now rare car.
It starts and runs like a top (we’ve driven it semi-regularly) and will fit right in cruising at freeway speeds (but will gain far more looks than almost anything else on the road).
Paint isn’t perfect, but it’s close. Overall, looking at a 2-2.5 ratings on the car. We welcome reasonable requests for additional detail photos and video. And, of course, we also encourage and welcome third-party inspections. Especially for out-of-area buyers.
Equipped with the expected goodies of a top-tier luxury automobile of the era, the Olds includes:
The J-2 TriPower package, with the 371 CI, 300hp engine with 415 ft/lbs of torque. It moves the car more quickly than you’d expect for it’s size. The intake manifold gaskets were R&R’d, and carbuerators fully rebuilt (including new linkage) in 2013.
Hydra-Matic transmission, which was fully re-sealed (including pan gaskets) in late 2012.
Power Steering
Power Brakes – The master brake cylinder was R&R’d (rebuilt unit from one of the best in the country) in late 2015
Power Top
Power Windows
Automatic Headlamp Dimmer
Padded Dash
Tinted Glass
Continental Kit
Fender Skirts
Wonderbar Radio
Day/Night Rearview Mirror
