For Sale: 1979 Aston Martin V8 in Huntington Station, New York

1979 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE COUPE --Raven Black with Burgundy leather interior and Red Wilton Wool carpeting, LHD, Original 5-speed manual, 99,000 Kilometers-61,000 Miles from new, Matching numbers, Rare Factory Sunroof. This V8 Vantage is one of the first 12 Oscar India V8 Vantages built in 1979. The first owner was a doctor in Halesowen, UK. In 1987, this Vantage was sold to a gentleman in France, Viscont de Farcy and converted from RHD to LHD by a well-known Aston marque specialist. It was later sold to Count Audion de Dampierre, a well known manufacturer of champagne as well a previous chairman of the French AMOC. The Count de Dampierre covered over 30,000 miles in this V8 vantage before selling in late 1998 to its next custodian, Mr. Abegg, also a French resident. It was sold once again in 2001 to a Swiss Aston enthusiast who used it approximately 12,000 km’s and over the next 12 years. In 2012, the Vantage was consigned it to Mr. C. Tedeschi, owner of Auto Klassiker, the Swiss classic car company with whom the Vantage had been maintained since 2001. In December 2012 this Vantage was purchased by Autosport Designs, Inc., imported to the USA and sold almost immediately to a well-known AMOC club member here on the East Coast of the United States. The V8 Vantage was driven only a short while until being entrusted to Aston Martin marque specialists Steel Wings for a complete chassis renovation, bare metal repaint and complete servicing. The brakes and suspensions systems were completely renewed and a Steel Wings suspension with upgraded springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bar installed. It was also decided to update the hubs and wheels to late style with Ronal type factory wheels. The Vantage was stripped to bare metal and treated to a concours quality repaint to better than new condition with all brightwork reconditioned. It was decided to leave the original leather due to its superb original cared for condition. The interior can be restored easily, but originality such as this cannot be duplicated once again. Mechanically, this V8 Vantage received a full engine reseal, rebuilt carbs, new water pump, all new oil lines as well as new oil coolers, prior to being installed back into the car with a completely detailed engine bay. All work was completed Spring of 2015. This V8 Vantage is supplied with its original factory build sheet, huge history file for both ownership and service history, factory owner’s manual and two sets of keys.
