Vehicle Description
This 1982 Collector Edition Corvette still has a hint of new car
smell, and the eyes confirm what the nose knows. There's hardly a
sign of wear in this 34 year old car with incredibly low average
annual mileage. The seats are tight, the carpets are clean, and the
car drives like it was new. You can almost hear "Eye of the Tiger"
rocking through the speakers.
Less than 8,000 Collector Edition Corvettes were produced, and this
is an incredible example in almost pure original condition. The
1982 Corvette was the last of a generation which dated its basic
body structure to 1968 and its chassis to 1963. To honor the
special status, Chevrolet offered a "Collector Edition," which came
standard with many optional features. This included lifting rear
hatchback glass, a Corvette first, and exclusive to the Collector
Edition. It also had special wheels styled to resemble 1967's "bolt
on" optional wheels, unique silver-beige paint, silver-beige
leather interior, and special cloisonne emblems.
