A very nice example.....excellent floor pan, very clean body with mostly original paint, redone seats, new carpets and interior panels, very good top, tonneau, and side curtains. Spare wheel/tire, jack, original front license plate frame, and lug wrench.
Disc brakes (pads look good, flex lines look new), 1100cc engine, twin SUs, runs great, 60 psi oil pressure when warm, 155-175 psi compression in every cylinder, no smoke hot or cold, all electrics work, quiet exhaust, all original gauges work, very good original chrome and trim, ready for a fun Summer.
There is some noise from the trans in 1st gear....okay, sure, not 'as new' but IF one uses 1st easily, could very last for many years as the rest of the gears are quiet, good synchromesh, doesn't pop out of gear, and no noises (in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th) whatsoever. And am having a proper rib case Sprite trans rebuilt.....will be finished soon, comes with a warranty, and is INCLUDED in the price. "Just in case." (trans is worth, rebuilt, over $1,000)
And Sprites ARE loads of fun, smooth, responsive engine, quick shifting semi close ratio transmission, strong brakes, wonderful steering, great handling, and better-than-expected ride and comfort.
Car has been fully serviced, all fluids changed or checked, new shocks just installed, new seat belts installed, nearly new tires and battery...........a lot of classic sports car for the money.
With that Austin Healey nose badge. Wonderful warm weather collector's car for under $10,000.
