The Pontiac Firebird was first launched in 1967 along side of the Chevrolet Camaro. In 1969, the final production year for the First Generation Firebird or F-Body, a $725 optional handling package called the "Trans Am Performance and Appearance Package," named after the Trans Am Series, was introduced and really launched Pontiac into the muscle car fray. 1970 through 1981 ushered in the Second Generation Firebird with many significant changes to its previous Coke bottle styling, including that of the shapely looks of our 1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am you see here. As appealing now and it was then is that flamboyant Trans Am Bird in black and orange along with distinctive Trans Am callouts displayed prominently on the nose, front fenders and rear spoiler that lets you know this is no ordinary Firebird. The same held true for its Honeycomb wheels unmistakable “Shaker” hood scoop that is so unique to the breed.
