Here is the opportunity to own a very unique cruising machine. For your consideration is a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle with SS badging. It has a unique coloring of Butternut Yellow which will stand out at the shows. The exterior is complemented with a Saddle interior. It is a very mature and classy color combination. Have fun on the road with wind blowing through your hair with the top down on this convertible or on extremely hot days with the top up comfortably with air conditioning (a semi-rare option for a convertible for its time). The driving excitement does not stop there as this Chevelle sports a factory appearing Big Block 454 with plenty of torque but still has a mild camshaft profile that allows smooth drivability at lower speeds. The driver is also at ease with the automatic transmission, power steering, front power disc brakes and even air conditioning.
The engine has been rebuilt and resealed for long term enjoyment with the additional reliability of a HEI Distributor (High Energy Ignition). The throttle response is crisp and nonlinear as it is still sporting a speadbore Rochester Quadrajet. While the rumble of the big block is always an attention grabber through its throaty dual exhaust, it does not rumble too much in the interior as the engine is fitted with cast iron exhaust manifolds and a fiberglass wrapped intermediate pipes to suppress the engine resonance. The restoration was done over a period of time as to not cut corners. Even the seat hinges are well detailed when the seats are folded forward for rear seat access. Accessories were not overlooked as a full complement of Autometer gauges were fitted into the driver’s cockpit with a finished fascia.
This driving machine is finished with everything you’d expect in a Chevelle like sport bucket seats, center console, finished trim and including custom steering wheel. This is a sharp car that allows a sport, fun, and mature representation of a muscle car experience.
This car is absolutely clean in appearance so be prepared for lots of miles and waves while driving.
