Vehicle Description
1939 Horch 930V Phaeton
Chassis Number: 931591
1 of 3 built and only 1 of 2 that survive today!
This car was shown in the Auto Union Anniversary Class at the 1999 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and again at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The first 930s were built from 1937 to 1939....with a V-8 engine and 92hp output. In 1939 the production was 795 vehicles for that year. The car was owned by Classic Car Investments, Inc. in Smyrna, Georgia in the early 1970’s. On August 25, 1976, the car was purchased by Ethel Spencer of Cincinnati, Ohio. The car was then purchased by Manfredo Lippmann of Guatemala on October 14, 1981 and is still the current owner! This very special car was restored for Mr. Lippmann by Bob Espenson of Arvada, Colorado in 1982. There are only two survivors! One is at the military collection of Oliver Bentfort in England and the other one is the one you see here.
