1957 Chevrolet 3100 Classic Trucks Magazine dubbed this PERFECTION.
This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Big Window pick up is the result of a
meticulous build focused on creating the perfect driving custom
truck. Some of the highlights are: 327ci/375hp Chevrolet engine,
built by CarrCo Engines, Orange, CA, assembled by sprint car racing
legend Rod Payne and featuring balanced and blueprinted, forged
crank and pistons, polished and shot-peened rods, Clay Smith 30/30
cam, solid lifters, 2.02 fulie heads, dual quad aluminum Corvette
intake topped with a pair of 450cfm Carter WCFB, vintage Cierello
Vertex magneto w/Taylor wires, Mattson aluminum radiator, Hedman
Headers, MagnaFlo mufflers, sprint car style oil pan, Centerforce
clutch, Schaffer aluminum flywheel. The stock 1967 Chevy 5-speed
trans with Hurst shifter is connected to a Corvette Posi rearend
with 3.31:1 ratio. The truck rolls on American Torq-Thrusts (15x7s
and 16x8s) with Fuzion HRi tires (215/60R15 and 225/60R16). The
truck was extensively worked over, adding custom touches all
around. The top is chopped 3in, the hood was sectioned 3-1/2 and
louvered. A pair of 1950 Pontiac taillights were added, rounded bed
corners and a gorgeous dark African mahogany floor finish the bed.
A glistening cover of House of Kolor black was shot by Cerneys Auto
Painting in Orange CA. Accent pin striping tastefully applied by
the legend Dennis Ricklef covers the exterior and interior. The
upholstery, stock gauges with additional Mooneyes gauges, a classic
1959 Oldsmobile steering wheel and the surprise feature of a
vintage working ARC 45-rpm record player were added. Old Air
Products air-conditioning, plenty of Dynamat and precision wiring
finish the interior. The classic stance is due to CPP 3in drop
spindles and Aldan shocks in front and leaf springs and Aldan
shocks in the rear. A smooth ride is achieved. PERFECTION
