This is a low mileage truck with original paint and a rebuilt
engine, new tires and extensive brake work. The truck has been
converted to a 12-volt alternator for bright lights and easy
starting and has been mostly rewired.
1948 R series truck customized in 1948 for the Studebaker
dealership, this truck was given every available option like the
overdrive transmission which makes this a freeway viable truck with
a 31 MPG fuel rating. The truck was also outfitted with the largest
available engine from the 2.5 ton truck. Designed by Raymond Lowey,
one of the greatest mid-century industrial designers, this is the
first 2 months of the revolutionary R series which was the first
