Vehicle Description
1951 Ford Custom Deluxe Sedan
The old shoebox Fords are always popular classics and have been the
basis for some of the coolest customs out there. This 1951 Ford
Sedan is a nice solid classic with a body that is all rust free. It
is coated in a nice dark Blue paint that suits the car well. All of
the original style chrome is in place and all in good shape. These
cars had a ton of stainless trim along both sides, around the
windows, and leading to the rear taillight bezels. The car also
comes complete with a Fulton Sunshield Visor which really adds to
the vintage look. And the classic dual bullet front bumper is a
1951 distinguishing look. The glass is all in good condition
throughout and has the two piece style front windshield. The lights
are all working properly and it also has the drivers side spotlight
which works. You often see the spotlights added just for cosmetics
and aren't wired in so it is cool to see one that actually lights
up well and works as it should. The wheels are painted to match the
body and fitted with original Ford hubcaps. A big contributor to
the overall appearance is the Wide White wall tires on all four
corners that really look great on the car.
Turning those tires is a Flathead V8 motor that was rebuilt only
500 miles ago. It starts up well and runs smoothly. Most of the
components are painted in the original Copper color that was found
on Flatheads in the late 40s/early 50s so it is period correct. It
is backed by a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive. However
the overdrive is currently disconnected. All of the brakes were
just gone through on the car and rebuilt so it has plenty of
stopping power.
The interior of the car is done in a Blue and White combo and the
upholstery work is in good condition. A split back bench seat sits
nicely up front and the padding is in good shape. The Blue and
White combo continues onto the door panels which are fitted with
the original style handles and armrests. The dash of the car is
painted Blue to match the body and is topped with all of the
original gauges, trim, knobs, switches, etc. An aftermarket gauge
pod was added to provide an Amp, Temp, and Oil pressure gauge. The
original radio is still there and works. The car is still its
original 6 volt system. The trunk of the car houses the original
spare and has a rubber mat lining the floor.
