Vehicle Description
1926 Chevrolet Superior Coupe
With all the custom fiberglass street rods driving around it is
nice to see a car like this 1926 Chevrolet Superior still on the
road. This is a survivor car that will be celebrating its 90th
anniversary this year! The car is mostly original with no known
past restoration other than some minor roof repair work. The steel
body is in good shape and coated in a two tone Green with Black on
the fenders and bumpers. These cars were also referred to as Landau
coupes and this car still has the unchopped standard roof height
with the landau bars mounted to both sides. The original headlights
are in place up front as well as the original louvered hood panels
and even the Moto Meter radiator cap. The radiator cap was actually
modified by one of the original owners and houses a nostalgic
picture. In the rear you will find the original spare set up with a
central taillight. The original wheels are in place throughout and
are green to match the body.
Powering the car is a 1927 4 cylinder motor that starts up well.
That's right this almost 1 century old classic is still running and
driving! They used to title a lot of cars based on the motor number
so a title that pairs with the 27 motor comes with the car as well
as the original 1926 4 cylinder. A manual 3 speed transmission is
mated to the motor and shifts through the gears without
problems.
The interior of the car features a beige cloth covered bench seat
with black covering some of the interior panels. The original
woodgrain steering wheel sits nicely in front of the driver and the
column is painted black. This was an era where dashes were kept
pretty simple which is still the case with this car today as it is
topped with only the original gauges, original ignition and the
added electronic ignition with push button start.
Everyday cars like this are disappearing and becoming harder to
find. They are truly pieces of history!
