1974 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, the glove box was replaced with a
lockable storage compartment under the dashboard. The option was
unpopular and was discontinued after the 1976 model year. This year
also saw the optional introduction of air bags. From the 1974

high-damping engine mounts, a fan clutch and a muffler for air
intake. Inside the car, an acoustical network of sound-deadening
materials- including double seals on doors- further reduces road
vibrations and the amount of traffic noise entering the passenger
