Vehicle Description
1984 marked the introduction of the 3.2 liter 911 Carrera, with its pressure-fed chain tensioners, it was considered the first "bullet proof" Porsche engine...But something else happened that model year as well! Porsche finally heard the screams from across the ocean, and gave us the first factory built Turbo Look!
Billed as the 930 Performance Body & Chassis, it essentially was built just as the European 930 was, but with the new, normally aspirated 3.2 liter Carrera engine, and a five speed!
Full wide body turbo fenders front and rear, front and rear turbo spoiler, longer rear cast alloy control arms, big vented turbo brake rotors & calipers, turbo sport shocks, thicker torsion bars and sways, and a set of wide alloy wheels to fill those big wheel wells!
This particular example (one of 354) was ordered by Schneider Porsche with sporty leather seats, cruise control, black leather headliner, electric sunroof, and of course what has come to be known by its option code, the M-491 Turbo Look package.
Already standard with air conditioning, fully tinted glass, power windows, heated/power side mirrors, 3-spoke leather sport steering wheel, electric rear defogger, reclining front seats, fold down rear seats, quartz clock, full gauge assortment, 4 speaker stereo prep w/ pwr. antenna, intermittent wipers, lighted & lockable glove box, halogen headlights, and Bosch fog/driving lamps.
Freshly serviced up today, this car was purchased by the P/O in 1987 from the original selling dealer, and personally serviced by the head Porsche Tech at that dealer who saw to its every need...For the next 31 years!
Grab a very cool piece of history...Before its gone!
