Evolve Motors is pleased to present our client’s 1965 Chevy II Nova SS V8! We have been hired to sell yet another gorgeous vehicle owned by one of our customers in Memphis, TN .
This ’65 Nova SS is a true SS coupe with a 283 Turbo Fire V8 and a M35 Powerglide transmission. It was repainted in late 2014 and finished early 2015. The interior was cleaned up at the same time as you will read below. We have taken time and care to properly decode the car as you can see above. This is 1 of only 643 SS V8s built in 1965.
The body shows nice and straight and the panels are extremely solid. The black paint looks great and we give it a B+ in all around paint quality. The panels all line up nicely and close with consistent gap spacings. We note only very minor clear bubbling on the right rear 1/4 wheel opening (see pics). The rockers, 1/4 panels, fenders and roof all show nice and solid and true. The inner door jambs were painted and show nice and solid as do the door panels (inner and outter). We note some dry gaskets around the glass. The rear bumper is flawless and the the front bumper is equally as nice. The grille is straight and shows nice patina. We note some extra patina on the hood leading edge trim. Overall this is a very straight car with original tins!
Inward, the car shows very strong with the perfect amount of dash patina to remind you that the car is over 50 years old. The bucket seats are very nice front and rear. The headliner is taught and clean. Carpets look newer and are very nice. Both door panels look very nice with correct hardware in very nice shape. The dash shows some tasteful aging. The gauge plastic bezels show the cars age as some of the chrome dipping is worn nicely. The glass throughout looks to be in good shape. The console shows some wear, but again we appreciate the aging and patina. We note a small broken spot on the dash (see pics). We also note a torn passenger side door gasket which the owner has offered to replace.
Under the hood sits the factory correct 283cid "Turbo Fire" V8, one of only 643 produced in ‘65. It looks very original under the hood, simple and clean. We appreciate the lack of chrome as is fits the clean overall look os this early muscle car. It fires up and runs well, free of smoke and engine chatter. We note a slight pull to the left under acceleration but this may be due to low air pressure in the left front when testing. We note a light creak in the rear of the car when going over a speed bump but it is otherwise a great driver. The motor makes great power and the transmission shifts nice and smooth. It stops smooth and straight. We note a light stumble on acceleration so we believe the car would benefit from a inexpensive carb rebuild. All lights and gauges appear to be in good working order. This black SS is an absolute blast to drive and turned heads everywhere we took it. There aren't very many of these cars left in their original formats like this one.
This 1966 Chevy II Nova SS is a true piece of Chevrolet history that will make a great driver or be a great addition to any collection!
