Cars is pleased to present the rare and seldom seen 1951 Buick
Special Deluxe, beautifully finished in the stunning deep Burgundy.
This is a Colorado car that has documented proof its history. The
car was purchased by AC Motors from a Colorado native who had owned
the car since 1964. From AC Motors it was then sold to and lovingly
cared for by the same owner in Colorado for 30 years! Showing only
minor imperfections it shows extremely well for a car of this
period. The contrasting white top compliment the beautiful burgundy
of the exterior. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with
fit and finish above par. The aluminum trim is in great shape as
well, with very minor imperfections. The 1950 Specials were divided
into two lines. The base model had no body-side moldings, while the
Special Deluxe had trim, bright window outlines and Special
script on the front fenders. Three body styles were available in
the Special line, with four in the Special Deluxe. Each had a
fastback, or Jetback, two-and four-door, as well as a
conventional notchback four-door touring sedan. Power came from the
110-hp, 248-cid OHV straight-eight engine, with a three-speed or
optional Dynaflow automatic transmission. For 1951, the Buick
Special grille was modified to a more conventional waterfall
design, and the Special line gained a convertible and a Riviera
two-door hardtop. The Jetback style was dropped, to be replaced by
a more conventional notchback form. The straight-eight engine was
increased to 263 cid and 120 hp, which this car has. Inside, the
interior is finished in the original color combination of grey
cloth. The seats are in great condition, showing little signs of
wear or age. The dashboard, door panels, headliner look period with
the colors of the interior. However it should be noted that the
temperature and oil pressure gauge are inoperable.Under the hood,
you'll find the 263 cid Inline 8 cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed
manualtransmission. The colored keyed 15 inch OEM wheels are
wrapped in American Classic Wide whitewall tires. Also included
with the purchase are the sale brochures, service records,
receipts, service and shop manuals from this cars long Colorado
history. This 50s icon is sure to turn heads no matter where you
take it! It would be an excellent addition to any classic car
collection or a fabulous Sunday driver. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! The
mileage currently 74,694 miles and it is believed to be actual as
stated by the previous owners and reinforced by a signed odometer
statement by the same owner of 30 years! It is being sold on a
clean and clear, mileage exempt title. VIN: 46365129
