MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the rare and desirable 1956 Chevrolet 150 Custom 2 Door Sedan. This car is an extremely well sorted and well kept example that is finished in the colors of Brilliant Orange and Jet Black showing very minor imperfections upon close inspection, a testament to the loving care of the previous owner. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with fit and finish above par, as is the additional brightwork.
The Chevrolet Bel Air was a full-size automobile that was produced by Chevrolet for the 1950–1981 model years. Initially only the two door Hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952, as distinct from the Styleline and Fleetline models for the remainder of the range. With the 1953 model year the Bel Air name was changed from a designation for a unique body shape to a premium level of trim applied across a number of body styles. The Bel Air continued with various other trim level designations until US production ceased in 1969, and continued only in Canada until 1981.
The 1956 Bel Air received a face-lift with a more conventional full-width grille, pleasing those customers who didn't favor the Ferrari-inspired '55 front end. Distinctive two-tone body-side treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings completed the "speedline" restyling. Single housings incorporated the taillight stoplight, and backup light, and the left one held the gas filler - an idea popularized on Cadillacs. Among the seven Bel Air models was a new Sport Sedan. The least costly Bel Air, was the two-door sedan. Seatbelts, shoulder harnesses, and a padded dashboard were available,]and full-size cars could even get the hot Covette 225-horsepower engine.
Inside, the interior is finished in the original color combination of black cloth seats. The seats are in great condition, showing little signs of wear. The black carpet is also in excellent condition and fits well inside the nicely appointed interior. The dashboard is original and finished in a glossy black which carries over from the exterior of the car. The headliner is finished in the same material as the seats and looks period.
Under the hood, you'll find a aluminum Edelbrock intake with Weber 4 barrel sitting on top of a 350 cubic inch SBC V-8 engine married to a 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, auxiliary set of gauges under the dash, race tachometer mounted on steering column, aluminum radiator, chrome valve covers, ceramic coated headers, Flowmaster dual exhaust, staggered 17 inch polished five spoke wheels and much more. Note: The reverse back-up lights are currently inoperable.
This 50s icon is sure to turn heads no matter where you take it!! It would be an excellent addition to any classic car collection or a fabulous Sunday driver! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
The mileage currently shows 84,863. It is being sold on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Missouri title.
