1966 Chevrolet Nova L79 Super Sport, A fully restored sorted award winning car that has just been completed in 2015. With 4000 miles on the car it has been road tested and performing excellent.
The exterior of the car was a straight original paint (lemon yellow with a black top) original sheet metal and no rust issues anywhere on the car, the gaps throughout the car aligned excellent and we were pleased to have such a wonderful straight car to start with. We purchased the car in 2006. I have included many photos of the car while it was being restored. The car was prepped and painted in a custom BASF grey color and received 4 passes of clear so it has a very deep look to it and even under fluorescents, All jams, under the doors and under the car has been painted to match. All chrome has been re plated and all stainless polished, Bumpers moved in more and rivets were removed for a cleaner look, The rear panel above the bumpers has been hand painted, the glass in the car is mostly original in good condition with the front windshield and rear glass being new, all rubber weather stripping throughout the car is new. All lenses are also new and Headlights are high Intensity led with a daytime running light around the headlight. The car sits on custom Budnick wheels that are painted centers and polished outers, 17 front and 18 rears the custom steering wheel matches the design on the interior. This car will be on Budnick wheels new T shirts and in the new Catalog, The wheels are wrapped in new Nitto High performance tires. The hand painted Felix Chevrolet license plate frame is an original not a reproduction.
The red leather interior uses the stock original SS seats, they are perforated and use a very high quality leather, The dash has been color matched, Door panels carry a custom handmade grab handle, upgraded door handles and window cranks, All of the gauges were sent out to Redline speedometer to get Cali braided and then hand painted to go the theme of the car, this includes the upgraded Tach, Stock Radio, center console, and climate control pod. Three boxes of Dyna mat were used to completely insulate the floors, door panels, roof and trunk, the headliner is red suede, rear package tray is matched to the interior, Seatbelts front and rear, Upgraded Stereo system located in the glove box with remote, XM radio, Cd and Ipod capabilities, door panels and rear deck lid have been perforated to hide the speakers. The vintage Air conditioning works excellent, everything painted with special Emeron air craft paint. The car has an upgraded electronic push button parking brake. Seven speed wiper’s from Detroit speed with the motor under the dash. The trunk is finished to the same caliber as the interior, there is a hidden gas door to the driver side that uses a carbon charcoal filter so there is no gas smell in the trunk.
The 327 Motor is a date code correct motor, it has been rebuilt and upgrades include a larger cam L79 comp 151 original L79 grind, Comp rockers and head studs MSD fuel Injection fully programmable of a lap top, custom headers, Eldebrock intake, All powder coated to the color of the car, the complete custom exhaust uses magnaflow mufflers ( the car has excellent sound) exhaust system also received a custom heat coating to reduce temp by 120 degrees, Aluminum Matson radiator, dual electric cooling fans, Larger Tilden starter, up graded Brake booster painted to match and hand painted that work the larger four wheel Wilwood brakes with red Calipers., TCI front end, Upgraded hood hinges front and rear by Eddies Motorsport, Ride tech coil overs, And a new 700 R trans with the original Chevrolet 12 bolt with 4:10s
