MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this statuesque and rarely seen 1985 BMW European spec 635CSi.This true European classic is one of the most iconic sports cars in history, with very little design changes throughout it’s history. One of a selected few cars that has retained essential design and engineering philosophy while setting new standards of performance and esthetics in the process. The perfect platform for customizing exteriors, interiors and Inline 6 cylinder drivelines.
The E24 BMW 6 series coupe was produced/sold by German automaker BMW Bayerische Motoren Werke from 1976 to 1988 (1989 in the US) model years. The E24 was a replacement for the e9 CS and CSL coupés first produced in 1965. The 3.0 CS was almost changed by adding a few centimeters in height to make it easier for customers to get into the car. However, Bob Lutz rebelled against the decision and rough drafted an alternative version that soon became the 6 series. Production started in March 1976 with two models: the 630 CS and 633 CSi. Originally the bodies were manufactured by Karmann, but production was later taken in-house to BMW.
This example is finished in a beautiful rich Schwarz black paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Upgrades include OEM motorsport fender flares (part #s 57111922091, 092, 095, 096) along with a complete ABS Zender style bodywork including a raised rear deck wing give the car a unique look without losing the distinctive shark nose lines. Inside, the stereo system has been completely upgraded with a Alpine system (amplifiers, radio, and blue tooth) and hideaway speakers box in the trunk that appears factory,. There's even a aftermarket alarm system for a little added protection. The subtle black leather seats all look great with no major signs of wear visible. Excellent matching carpet throughout the interior. The door panels and dashboard are matched perfectly the exterior of the car and look fantastic. Paint and body are exceptional with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. This true European classic, comes with 20 years of service history receipts, clean CARFAX and even the original EPA paperwork import papers.
This Euro spec 6er provides a few more benefits than it's U.S. spec cousin. For instance a higher compression 218hp 3.5 liter 6-cylinder engine, lighter weight (better power to weight ratio) 5-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension, limited slip differential, providing pleasurable predictable spirited driving.
With the low production numbers these Euro 635s are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
