Recently appraised at $70,000 market value. Recently gone through a
Road Ready Inspection. Both documents were done by an interested
buyer, both are available to any interested buyers. Not your run of
the mill 67' Chevelle. This car is a collector/driver, all numbers
matching with modern upgrades where it counts for suspension,
performance, acoustics and Bluetooth audiofile sound. All correct
with true pedigree. True 138 VIN, numbers matching on both the
engine and the transmission. Originally 325 hp 396 cid, top of
engine professionally built to 425 hp. Original Muncie 4 speed
transmission (rock crusher). GM aluminum intake, Holley carb,
forged pistons, stout cam, coated headers.
Cowl Tag details are all correct: Tuxedo black paint, black vinyl
top, black vinyl interior, bucket seats with console, power
steering, 12 bolt rear with 3:36 ratio. I purchased car from Volo
Auto Museuim in January of 2015, they had it on consignment from
the Hooker/Klein classic car collection. Since I purchased it I
have made several tasteful upgrades for ride-ability and modern
convenience.
Car sits on 17" Kumho racing tires with Torque Thrust II wheels
from American Racing.
2015 upgrades include, Dynalight Willwood disc brakes (all 4)
drilled and slotted. In addition to the brakes we added the
Willwood Hydro Boost setup, this resto mod favorite pulls hydraulic
pressure off your steering pump for braking power vs. vacuum off
the engine. The result? Finally enough "whoa" to match the "go".
Keep in mind this car is scary fast. Now the driver feels
comfortable accelerating in tight spaces because the car will stop
on a dime. All suspension and steering components have been
replaced new, but correct. New Eibach Springs, new Bilstein Shocks,
new GM ball joints, give the car a stable smooth ride. Feels like a
car right off the 1967 production line. New steering box, steering
pump and tie rods complete the recent drive-ability upgrades.
Lastly, on the underside, we added a 2.5" Flowmaster Exhaust System
with black anodized tips.
Once the ride-ability was spot on we moved to the interior for some
modern upgrades. See pics. The interior was completely removed so
we could run an acoustic mat (Focal BAM XXXL, think of a quarter
inch memory foam/foil ply sticky blanket) throughout the entire
cockpit of the car. Not only does this make a huge difference in
acoustics for the audiofile sound system that was about to be
introduced but it also cuts down on road and engine noise in the
cockpit. No expense was spared in the sound system. The JVC head
end unit resides in the trunk, out of sight. The trunk was fitted
with a custom upholstery panel finish in carbon fiber black vinyl.
The system runs off Bluetooth, any Apple or Android phone becomes
your user interface. Run Pandora, stored music or local/Internet
radio. System includes JL Audio class D 750W amplifier, JL Audio
10W6v3 Wedge Sub Woofer, Infinity Kappa 6X9" (back seat), Infinity
Kappa 5 3/4" (front seat), hands free calling kit. From the
interior of the car all speakers are sub mounted and completely
hidden out of sight, we wanted to maintain a classic correct look
and feel. As a matter of fact the original AM radio is still intact
in the dash and still works if you want to listen to some scratchy
"oldies".
Many simple restoration parts have been introduced in addition to
the above. New side mirrors, rear view mirror, dome light assembly,
wiper blade assemblies, dash mat, hurst shifter with custom shift
knob, rubber shifter boot, console clock, Chevelle SS floor mats,
rear package tray, all 4 arm rests and window cranks, suicide knob,
billet aluminum clutch, brake, gas pedals, blackout Spectre air
filter. All original parts removed go with the car.
End result is an incredible driving (and listening) experience.
This car has pedigree for the classic car collector, but it is
meant to be a driver with modern upgrades. The highlight of the car
is the body and paint. It turns heads every time I take it out,
people migrate toward the car every time I pull into the gas
station. The body is straight, the gaps are beautiful and the paint
is so deep you'd think your hand could dip into it.
Only serious offers will be considered, this is a rare and special
car. Feel free to inquire on anything I've left out. Thank you for
taking a closer look.
