MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the rare and seldom seen 1954 Packard Convertible coupe! This exceptionally big, American made classic drop top, is beautifully finished in handsome Belvedere Green over a very well kept checkered cloth/white interior and a Black convertible top. Exterior finish is very presentable showing only minor imperfections and looks great even upon close viewing. The black canvas convertible top is older but presents well, seals good and has a clear rear window. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with fit and finish above par, all additional trim is in great shape as well, only showing minor imperfections, and some surface pitting on the chrome tail lamp bezels.
The Packard Caribbean is a personal luxury car produced by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, during model years 1953 through 1956. Some of the Caribbean's styling was derived from the Pan America Packard Show car of the previous year. It was produced only as a convertible from 1953 to 1955, but a hardtop model was added in its final year of 1956.
Inside, the interior is finished in the original color combination of green checkered cloth with white vinyl. The seats are in great condition showing only a few signs of use and age. The dashboard, door panels also present well and are a testament to the exceptional build quality of these great cars and to the meticulous care it has received over the years.
Under the hood, you'll find the 288 cid straight 8 cylinder mated to the later and more automatic "Gear Start" Ultramatic, offering a new selector sequence on the column shift: 'D', for Drive, placed in between High, now represented with a simple dot, and Low (PN•DLR). In this new DRIVE range, it would use the low ratio and torque converter to start off, switching to the high ratio and ultimately to direct drive as the car accelerated; effectively automating what many Packard drivers had been doing manually with the older Ultramatic Drive. It also features power steering, power brakes, power windows, under seat heater, manual convertible top, and the iconic Swan hood ornament. Windshield wipers are currently inoperable. For added eye appeal, 15 inch Kelsey Hayes wire wheels were recently added and are wrapped in American Classic Wide whitewall tires. Also included are service records, receipts, service and shop manuals.
This 50s icon is sure to turn heads no matter where you take it!! It would be an excellent addition to any classic car collection or a fabulous Sunday driver! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
The mileage currently 53,866 and it is believed to be actual as stated by the previous owners and documents. It is being sold as is on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
