1935 Chevrolet 3-Window Coupe in Granite Falls, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

When this project started, there were 3 goals set for the project:

1. It had to be an all steel body 35 Chevy 3 window coupe.
2. All of today’s technology and modern conveniences that one would find today in the finest automobile had to be there, and last
3. Above all, it had to perfect

This 35 Chevy 3 window coupe is undoubtedly one of Chevrolet’s finest looking vehicles ever produced. So after an extensive search for the perfect 35 to build, this one was found in North Carolina sitting under a carport with many years worth of dust calling it home. After viewing the 35, it became very apparent that this was a rust free car and an excellent choice for the build. The purchase was made, then the process of completely disassembling the vehicle began; down to the last nut and bolt. The frame was sent to Vision Rod Shop to have it fully boxed and a Heidt’s super ride stainless steel independent front suspension installed with Wilwood disc brakes and a Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.55 gears and stainless steel 4 link with Aldan coil over shocks. While the frame and suspension were getting the VIP treatment, a new GM crate Ram Jet 350 CI (which produces over 350 hp) and a new 700R4 transmission with overdrive was ordered. The body of the 35 was sent over to Parkers Street Rods for paint and assembly with the goal that it was to retain the style of the 30’s; a lost art of craftsmanship with the chrome, bright work, ornaments that we will never see again.

While the 35 body was being massaged into perfection, the frame arrived and got the same royal treatment that the body received. The body and parts were painted separately using orange pearl and orion silver. The flames and pin stripping are done by hand and then clear coated. Everything looks a mile deep and this car is absolutely stunning.

Now it was time to send the 35 over to Moores upholstery shop to receive the same royal treatment. The theme for the upholstery was to use taupe and beige leather to cover the interior and the Tea’s design split seat is an excellent design choice. The custom dash with white gauges, orange pointers and polished Flaming River tilt steering column along with Wabbit wood inserts and the overhead console, give the perfect amount of elegance to an already stunning car.

This is a super high end build with no expense being spared and attention to detail in every square inch of this all steel 35 Chevy. To build a street rod to this level where everything is just perfect from top to bottom is only reserved for the best builders.

This all steel 35 has received numerous awards at very prestigious car shows to include best of class at Concour’s D Elegance at Hilton Head and a five page article in Street Rod Builder.
