Windows MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this
handsome and rarely seen 1948 Lincoln Continental "Restomod" Coupe.
This is a truly forties icon classic with modern day upgrades,
hence the name "Restomod". What is the difference between restomod
and restoration? Traditionally, automotive restoration essentially
refers to taking a collector car and bringing it back to life
utilizing as many OEM pieces as possible. The process involves
repair of the visible parts (e.g., body trim, interior, etc.), as
well as the parts not easily seen (e.g., electrical, suspension,
brakes, etc.). All restomods are different and each builder has
his/her own objectives, however, the overall the idea is to retain
the essential look of the classic while increasing reliability and
performance. This Lincoln is a great example of a mild restomod
built to look stock but with a more modern interior and drivetrain.
1946-1948 Lincolns are rare due to the fact that they were one of
the more expensive luxury cars of the era. This great looking
exampleis now powered by a Ford 351 cid Windsor V-8 with a HDI
electronic distributor which is linked to a C4 automatic
transmission. Other mechanical upgrades include 12-volt electric
system, electric cooling fan, rebuilt transmission, and more. It
has been further enhanced with such amenities as power windows,
power steering, wide white wall Coker tires on 15 inch steel wheels
with period correct chrome wheel coversand beauty rings.Note:
windshield wipers currently inoperable. Finished in a period rich
dark green, theexterior finishshows extremely well with only
minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front
and rear bumpers fit nicelyand show extremely well boasting recent
re-chroming. Having spent much of its life in dry climate, the body
of this iconic luxury car shows extremely well with no visible
evidence of repair or damage that we could find. The interior
carries the simple yet elegant theme of the rest of the car with
recently upholstered light seats and door panels. Both front
andrear bench seats and all look great with no visible wear. Upon
entering the car, one isgreeted by a gorgeous refinished wood dash
with reconditioned instruments that are just as pretty now as they
were when the car was new. The elegant craftsmanship of these great
American classics is represented beautifully by this tastefully
restored and upgraded Continental making it a fantastic addition to
any collection! These custom Lincolns are becoming increasingly
hard to find in such solid well kept condition. GET OUT AND
DRIVE!!! Be sure to check out our other Continentals, a 1942 and
