With the generations of people that grew up in the 70's and 80's reaching their 40's the popularity of the Trans Am has started to grow. These were certainly iconic, popular classics before now but their desirability is starting to climb even more. The 1979 T/A you see here is a nice original classic that drives and shows very well. You see a lot from this year done in Silver or Black so being a factory code 75 Mayan Red car always makes it stand out. It is a factory Red with Black interior T top car that was built in the Van Nuys, Ca assembly plant in June of 1979. Since new the car has been well cared for and in its recent years has been mainly used for car shows. The body is in good shape and all of the factory components are there. The decals are in good condition and have a bright finish that looks great over the Red paint. All of the glass is in good shape and the car comes with new bags for storage of the T tops when not in place on the car. The original aluminum wheels are in place under all four corners and are wrapped with BF Goodrich radial tires.
Turning those tires is the original 403 V8 Oldsmobile engine that the car came out of the factory with. The appearance under the hood is very clean and everything has the factory finish mostly being painted black or Pontiac blue except for the Red scoop. Factory power brakes are in place and working properly. Mechanically the car runs well and moves down the road smoothly.
The interior is done in the original Black vinyl and is in good condition. It came from the factory with a tilt column, console and Delco AM/FM/Cassette player which are still in place. Everything works properly and all of the original trim is there and in good shape. The trunk is finished out with Black carpeting and houses the original jack.
This is a great looking classic that will bring you tons of fun. These Trans Ams are always going to be sought after cars so their value will only increase as time goes on.
