For Sale: 1934 Jaguar SS in Arlington, Washington

Vehicle Description

> Authentic prewar S.S.1 Tourer with its original engine & gearbox. All matching serial numbers: chassis #247485, engine #210651, body #4024. Manufactured 23 Feb 1934 and despatched 2 Mar 1934 by Swallow Coachbuilding Co Ltd to J. Hallworth, Stockport, Cheshire. Crested with a unique art deco motif, S.S. built 202 S.S.1 Tourers in 1934, of which 26 are known to survive. Its painted rims and rare single carburetter distinguish #247485 as an early '34 model.
> Its Standard Model 20 (2663 cc) engine develops 68 bhp for a top speed of 75 mph. Rough roads were tamed by its Bluemels leaf-spring steering wheel, Andre Hartford friction shock absorbers and Wilmot Breeden 'harmonic stabilizer' front bumper.
> S.S. Cars Ltd handcrafted 594 S.S.1 Tourers from 1933 until 1936 when their S.S. Jaguar 100 was introduced. Founder William Lyons changed the company name to Jaguar Cars Ltd in 1945.
> This Open Four-Seater Sports was recently displayed at Jaguars On The Island in Victoria BC and awarded their Director's Choice Award 2015. This JCNA event was its first public showing in 42 years after mechanical restoration by British Motor Co.
> Trunk contains correct jack & grease gun, prewar tool roll, original side curtains (for patterns). This drivable 'pre-Jaguar' rarity is the real deal with original components, solid frame, good wood and JDHT certificate. FSBO.
