Vehicle Description
As America's Great Depression continued, the luxury automobile market dwindled, yet Cadillac offered three distinct series: the V-8, V-12 and V-16. The Cadillac V-12 is a top-of-the-line car that was manufactured from the 1931 through the 1937 model years. All were furnished with custom bodies, and the car was built in relatively small numbers. It was Cadillac's first, and is to date, Cadillac's only standard production V-12 powered car. The Cadillac V-12 was renamed the Series 80 and 85 in 1936. The Series 80 and 85 featured a 131" and 138" wheelbase respectively. All V-12s were now Fleetwood bodied and had Turret Tops. A total of 901 V-12s were sold in 1936.
The car being offered is a rust-free California car that has had the same owner since 1981. It has been completely restored (frame off) and the engine was rebuilt by Miles Morestatter in 2000. It has been driven only 2,100 miles since the restoration and serviced regularly. The car will run at 65 to 70 mph with it's high speed rear end ratio.
This car is ready to show at any CCCA Grand Classic (and should score 100 points) or ready for a CCCA Caravan. It comes equipped with turn signals, bright headlights and Trippe lights. All equipment is working, including all lights and gauges. A modern AM/FM radio is hidden, with the antenna under the running board.
