Rare 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe, 4 dr, suicide rear doors.
Her name is "Clementine".
She is a 76 year old survivor car.
Original engine, runs great, I drive her almost every day.
She has original interior, I have put matching cloth covers over the seats to protect them. The seats have some damage where the driver sits, and some on the top of the rear seat back.
The clock on the glove box door works fine, if you wind it up 1st.
The heater works and has shut off valve under hood.
All the windows work and are not cracked.
Almost any part you need can be found online.
There is a dent in the driver's door, it was there when I got it, it has been there since the 60s, I don't have the heart to remove it. She is in great condition for a 75 year old car.
She won 1st place unrestored at 1st car show.
She has been featured on cover of Chevs of the 40's parts catalog.
All original 1940 sheet metal except running boards.
She has 1950s's style add on turn signals that work perfect.
All new: electrical wiring, generator, regulator, brakes, master and wheel cylinders, drums, lines, all springs and screws.
New fuel system, gas tank, lines, fuel pump, sending unit.
Paint freshened up only enough to stop surface rust.
New tires, "Coker Tire" with 4" wide white walls.
All new exhaust system.
Around 2000 miles have been put on her since new parts were installed.
The speedometer shows 001920 (subject to change, I drive it all the time) but the car had 99919 miles on it when I got it. so it has over 100k on it.
I tried not to molest it too much; I tried to only replace what needed to be done to make her a safe driver.
She has a second battery in trunk with solenoid controlled starting boost. If you have ever tried to start a 6v car you would understand.
I was told she was purchased in Pennsylvania by the IRS Revenuers to chase bootleggers. This didn't last long because the bootleggers started using fords with flathead v8s, and the 6 bangers in the Chevys couldn't catch them anymore.
Clean S.C. title.
This car will only be sold for verified funds. If paid by check, it must be on a local bank and will be cashed before the I will allow it to be taken. Under no circumstances will I except PayPal, no exceptions.
I prefer the future owner to inspect the car in person before purchasing. I am very leery of buyers who want to buy unseen. I have already had to deal with a few scammers, they have all been reported.
No tire kickers, serious inquiries only please.
I do not want or need anyone's help to sell it either, so you guys leave me alone.
