For Sale: 1973 Porsche 911 in Scotts Valley, California

Vehicle Description

1973 Porsche 911 T
VIN: 9113102654
Engine No: 6134871
Transmission No: 339032

This 911T was purchased new by Richard A Kramer, a television engineer from Davenport, Iowa on May 1st 1973. He would own the car, and be an active PCA member until his passing on June 8th, 1987. The car would be in probate until March 22nd 1988, and was then sold with only 9,233 miles.

Gary Sissel, an attorney from Davenport, Iowa would buy the car out of probate, and sell it later that year to George Nielsen, an architect from Cincinnati, Ohio. Nielsen would put the car into storage for the winter, and then finally title the car in June of 1989 with 11,260 miles. He would go on to own the car for the next 16 years, all the while keeping meticulous records of the mechanical servicing of the car.

John Weyrauch of Mountain Top, PA purchased the car in July of 2004 with 22,456 miles and immediately entered the 911T in competition. The car would go on to win Best of Show and Judges Choice at the 2004 Buckingham Concours d'Elegance, and at the 2004 Pocono Region Oktoberfest VI it won Best in Class and Best in Show.

On March 15th 2007, David Riddle, a noted collector from Vancouver, Canada purchased the 911T, which only had 28,223 miles on the odometer at the time. Riddle added it his collection of low mileage cars including the best, low-mileage 911S in North America. Earlier this year he traded the 911T for Canepa's immaculate 1964 Porsche 356 SC.

Since arriving at Canepa the 911T has undergone a complete Canepa Preservation Restoration.

An excellent car like this 911T did not need a full restoration. It was rust and accident free; the original paint was beautiful and the original interior was in like-new condition. It would be a shame to assault the originality of this car with new paint and upholstery, but the car did need to be freshened to be 100%.

We began by disassembling the car down to the tub, as you would for a full restoration. Every part was taken off the car, and then evaluated. The tub was hand cleaned, taking care to preserve the original paint, and then the entire car was polished over several painstaking stages to bring it back to as new luster.

The engine and transmission were removed, cleaned, painted, resealed, and reinstalled with new mounts. The engine was taken down to long block to ensure that every component was checked, cleaned and if necessary refinished. All the fuel lines, gaskets and hoses were replaced. While the engine was out the flywheel was turned and a new clutch assembly fitted. Finishing off the engine compartment is a beautifully refinished original exhaust system, and new firewall material.

Next up were suspension and brakes. All the original suspension hardware and brake tins were pulled from the car and replated. All the suspension components were refinished, and new bushings were installed all around.

In the brake department the calipers were rebuilt and accurately replated; new wheel bearing installed, and new brake pads at all four corners. On the wheels is a correct set of Michelin XWX tires (made in France.)

The interior is all-original and like new. The complete interior was removed, hand cleaned, and then reinstalled. All new seals were fitted to the doors and windows.

When every part was back to factory spec the car was reassembled, tuned, detailed again, and road tested. Over 1000 hours of work were invested into making this 911T exceptional.

There is, without a doubt, no 911 like this one. A wholly original car, with documented low mileage, rust and accident free, with its original paint and interior, renewed to a concours level of fit and finish, and fully mechanically serviced.
