Very clean, well prepared Southern car.
Excellent 1600cc engine, 155-160 psi compression in every cylinder, 60-65 psi oil pressure, zero smoke, same with trans and diff. VERY clean body with recent respray in original Old English White. New black interior, new top, side curtains, and tonneau. Top quality luggage rack, wire wheels, mostly new chrome, walnut wood dashboard, very clean engine bay and trunk, very clean 'underneath' (chassis, floors, battery boxes, etc.), a ready-to-go example of this wonderful classic.
If ANY car epitomized the concept of a 'ideal compromise,' it is an MGA 1600.....contemporary tire/wheel size (15"), disc brakes, sufficient power to reach 95 mph and cruise all day at, say, 80+ mph, superb ride, handling, steering, and one of the most beautiful classic 'shapes.' Easy to maintain, impossible to have a financially catastrophic mechanical issue, fun to drive, and looks quite nice even with the top and s/curtains on.
The last owner did a lot of work....suspension bushings, brakes, windshield, exhaust, wood floors, master cylinders, most brake lines, the result is a car ideal for;.....the first day of Summer?
