1995 Dodge "Neon" Factory hand built race car for the Dodge
Challenge series; ACR with VIN #01; raced in "Celebrity" Challenge
races; purchased by Roy Sjoberg,jr ;Executive engineer of the
"Viper Project" creating and managing the pjoject team for
development and production of the Dodge viper;this the only one of
the initial five of these hand-built race cars to be allowed to be
titled and licensed for the road; and was rallied in SCCA events.
Campaigned for 4 years in SCCA road races; including Mid-Ohio,
Route "66 "race; Elkhart Lake; and many others. This vehicle has a
"Blue printed" engine and up-dated to latest SCCA specs; This is
the only Neon raced in the IMSA series at Mosport, Ontario;Other
drivers included Victor Shifton of Canada who drove a "viper" at
LeMans in 1996 finishing 10th overall. The Neon has a 5 speed
racing transmission; 4 wheel disk brakes; full roll cage; race
seat; fire suppressant system; compition belts; full race
suspension; window net; etc.Can be registered and driven on the
street;(depending on smog regs) or still eligible for SCCA and
other venues;(log book and tech. inspections) or a great museum
piece or wall-hanger.
