Big changes in 1947 included repositioning the fog lights to below
the headlights and changing out the grooved trim pieces to all
smooth trim. This includes that smiling front grill that no longer
had red inset into the stainless. This creates a much more updated
look and gives it a much cleaner appearance when compared to the
46. This nice classic Coupe is a good driver with a great look. The
body is solid and nicely painted in a dark Wine Berry color. This
pairs perfectly with all of the original style chrome and stainless
which is all cleanly mounted in place. Rear fender guards are in
place and give it that extra touch of nostalgia. Tinted windows are
in place throughout and it has the bent style front windshield. 17
inch American Racing special edition wheels are under all four
corners and have a beautiful finish. Each is wrapped with fresh
Michelin tires.
A big selling feature on this car is the fact that under the hood
is a 351 Windsor motor. Nothing against those Chevy's but it is
getting harder to find Ford street rods with Ford power so this car
should put a smile on any die hard Ford lover's face. The engine is
topped with a few aftermarket Chrome and Billet parts which dress
it up nicely. It starts up with ease and gets the car rolling with
no issues. It has a mild cam, Edelbrock carburetor and is backed by
a C4 automatic transmission. Other drivetrain/suspension components
include the Ford 8 inch rear end, Walker Radiator, Mustang II front
suspension, tubular control arms, Eaton springs, power steering and
power brakes with disc up front.
The interior is complete in grey cloth and utilizes the original
bench. The dash is painted to match the exterior and is topped with
a lot of the original style gauges and trim. A tilt steering column
was added and is also painted to match the body. An aftermarket
Alpine AM/FM/CD player provides your favorite tunes and delivers a
great sound through Alpine speakers. A Lokar floor shifter is in
place and moves through the gears with ease. In addition to those
power options the car also has air condition and heat which make it
very comfortable to cruise around in. The trunk offers all the
additional storage space you could ask for and houses the battery
and spare wheel.
