For Sale: 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo (930) Coupe in St. Louis, Missouri
Beautiful Guards Red/Tan Leather 911 Turbo! Equipped with an
electricsunroof and limited slip differential! One of 1,403
Porsche 930 Coupes brought to America in 1987! Only 34,238 original
miles! When Porsche introduced the 911 Turbo in 1975, they had
essentially created a homologation special that was meant to sell
400 copies in a 24 month period. After they sold five times as many
in that two years, they turned the project over to their marketing
department, who took the 917/30 CAN-AM 3.0L and applied the
technology to the Carerra RS 3.0. Porsche called it the 930 and
almost immediately, it became the meanest car on the street. With
blistering performance but also a comfort level not often
associated with two-door cars, the 930 was a 911 on steroids,
equally at home on the track as it is blasting through the Swiss
Alps. As the first generation of the now storied 911 Turbo series
continues to increase in value, the car remains highly collectible
among air-cooled Porsche enthusiasts! We are exceptionally excited
to offer this 1987 Porsche 930 Coupe! The car is finished in a
Stuttgart classic combination of Guards Red over Tan Leather
upholstery with Guards Red piping. The car is fitted with its
original 3.3L Flat 6 equipped with a KKK turbocharger that makes
282 horsepower and 288 lb-ft at 12 psi of boost. Notable features
and options on this car include an electricsliding sunroof,
limited slip differential, 22.5 gallon fuel tank, fold-down rear
seats, rear window wiper, courtesy lights, Blaupunkt Lexington CM54
head unit with door speakers, upgraded MSD ignition and custom
stainless steel exhaust system. The car rides on original Black
Fuchs wheels with polished lips and colored Porsche emblems wrapped
in 205/55ZR15 front and 245/45ZR16 rear Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires.
Originally bought new in Miami, Florida, the car was used sparingly
and only 30,400 miles were driven in the first six years of
ownership. By 1999, this 930 had switched hands and made its way to
a collection in Puerto Rico, where it stayed until late 2014. All
mileage increments, clean CarFax report, and the overall excellent
condition of the car would indicate that the 34,238 miles are
original to the car. The car is mechanically outstanding, with
tremendous power, tight steering, taut but forgiving suspension and
a crisp gearbox. This was the fastest car on the market upon its
introduction and has no trouble keeping up with performance cars of
the 21st century. Theair conditioningwas recently serviced with
new compressor, dryer, control thermostat, expansion valve,
retrofit to R134a along with freshFreon, and now blows
cold.Thetires have plenty of tread life remaining. The car is
ready to be enjoyed immediately and as such a low mile example,
certainly qualifies as a fantastic investment. This 930 is one of
only 2,281 built in 1987 and one of only 1,403 brought to the US.
We have little doubt the next owner will be thrilled to put it in
his or her garage! Any interested parties should feel free to call
with additional questions! Thanks for looking!
