This fine example of the VW Beetle in convertible format is a believed to be 59,xxx original mile example. It is an original Yellow car and retains much of its original paint. New Interior shows well and the beauty of the car with its excellent condition with Black top up or down is evident. The car features the 1600cc Bosch fuel injected engine and signals the end of the Beetle convertible era, at that time. Always a popular car with the masses, only 10,681 convertibles were built by Karman in this last year of production and they remain a sought after yet enjoyable collector car today with at strong market value.
My favorite uncle bought this in the fall of 1973.
You may not earn an invitation to Amelia Island or other major concours d’elegance with this Pick of the Week, but you certainly would be a hit at a Concours d’LeMons.
