First time offered for sale is a 1948 Mercury Eight Convertible. This incredible car comes out of a collection of Ford Dearborn award-winning early Ford roadsters and convertibles. (All the five open-cars owned by the same collector I have posted on Hemmings have garnered Dearborn awards)!
This Mercury runs the stock flathead V/8 with a manual transmission matched to a Columbia overdrive. Restored in 1996, the car performs effortlessly with only 10,931 miles. The body panels and gaps, paint, stainless and chrome are exceptional. Interior upholstery, soft convertible top, top-bows, woodgrain and all the interior appointments show as-new. All gauges are clear and intact including the radio, heater and clock. The trunk area is solid and the undercarriage mirrors the quality of the exterior of the vehicle. If you are seeking a Mercury Eight Convertible you have located your vehicle. Pictured is an investment quality vehicle and one to display, show, or tour.
