Vehicle Description
The Austin-Healey Sprite Mark 1 affectionately called Bugeye is an
unmistakable work of art. About 49000 were made in the three year
run of 1958-61. This 1960 four speed convertible borrows assets and
features from many previous vehicles such as the Jaguar D-type's
rear suspension design and its engine from the British Morris Minor
1000 and the Austin A35. The manufacturer did not design the car
with exterior door handles adding to the smooth sleek exterior.
Also by moving access of the rear compartment from a boot lid to
behind the foldable seats not only was extra baggage space provided
but this also greatly increased structural integrity. We have on
order a new vinyl top that is included in this price which
completes the look of this classic. It is highly sought after by
collectors is a blast to drive and gets attention wherever it goes.
