For Sale: 1958 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud in North Miami, Florida

1958 SILVER CLOUD I FREESTONE & WEBB JOB 1833-DESIGN 3242/C - TWO SEATER SPORTS CONCEALED HOOD COUPE The "HONEYMOOON EXPRESS” Elegantly finished Mason’s Black over Brewster Green lacquer with Buckskin hides, this 42,221 mile automobile was the subject of a fully documented no expense spared restoration by Vantage Motorworks in 2013. The factory records indicate that it was ordered by H.R.Owen,Ltd. For Arnold Moreton and delivered June, 1958. The Silver Cloud series by that time were supplied with the larger valve, large carburetor specification engine first introduced in the Bentley Continental series, power assisted steering and dual master cylinder braking systems. The car was resold to Charles Altman on New York City in 1975, and Moreton died in 1982. Charles and Alice Altman founded the Altman Lighting Company in 1953. The firm grew to be well known for supplying stage lighting for schools and theatres. SGE270 remained with the Altmans until it was purchased by their family friend, the highly regarded Rolls Royce dealer Michael Schudroff in early 2012. It was resold through Vantage Motorworks to its third registered owner in straight undamaged and complete order but with not unexpected 55 years of deterioration approximately one year later. Renowned Rolls Royce collector Rick Carroll for many years owned the other two “Honeymoon Express” cars, one Rolls Royce and one Bentley and was planning a simultaneous restoration of both when he was killed in a tragic driving accident in 1989. The pair became part of a major collection where they remain, unavailable for purchase, today. This is by far the finest example extant and the sole candidate for addition to any connoisseur’s stable. It is complete and correct and its performance is as when new
